About San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

This UNESCO World Heritage site preserves four 18th-century Spanish colonial missions: Mission Concepción, Mission San José, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada. Stretched along the San Antonio River, these complexes highlight the intersection of Spanish and Indigenous cultures.

Mission San José serves as the primary hub, featuring the main visitor center and park store. Concepción & San Juan offers a look at the oldest unrestored stone church in the nation and historic agricultural lands.

The missions are connected by the Mission Reach Hike and Bike Trail. Learn Getting There to navigate between them efficiently.

Tom was very knowledgeable about the Missions and its history. I felt that I had enough time at each Mission to explore. Easy to find meeting location. Comfortable van. The only downside was that my 9:15 am reservation was rescheduled to 2 pm and it was the hottest part of the day, and the lighting was harsh for photos. Otherwise, I would recommend this tour.

The small group makes the experience more enjoyable. The guide can move the group faster and address individual interests and questions.

Amazing experience! Beautiful architecture. Loads of history. Our guide, Matt, was phenomenal. Very knowledgable, and passionate about the culture and history. Well worth the time and money.

We had a half day tour of the four missions, with seven other people . Joseph, our guide, was excellent! He had an extensive knowledge of each of the missions and of San Antonio and Texas history in general. He was prompt, and provided drop off at downtown spots afterwards. I highly recommend!

Joseph was very knowledgeable and intelligent. He provided in-depth information and commentary throughout the tour. He even gave great suggestions for meals off the beaten path for after the tour. (BTW, Dough was a fantastic suggestion!)
